This Privacy Policy describes how Sitebun ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services") available at dev.sitebun.net and on subdomains such as yourname.dev.sitebun.net.
By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Information we collect
Account and authentication. When you create an account, we collect the information you provide, such as your email address and credentials. Authentication is processed through Amazon Cognito; Cognito and our application may also record security-related events needed to operate sign-in.
Your site content. We store the content you add to your page (for example text, headings, contact details, images, and structured fields used by templates) so we can display your published page and let you edit it. Content you choose to publish is intended to be public on your subdomain.
Media. If you upload images or other files, those files are stored so they can be shown on your page.
Technical and usage data. Like most online services, we automatically receive certain technical information when you use the Services, such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, device type, timestamps, and request metadata. Our infrastructure and analytics tools may process this data for security, reliability, and improvement.
Local storage. The web app may store session tokens (for example in browser local storage) so you can stay signed in until you sign out or the session ends.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, host, and operate the Services (including publishing your page)
- Authenticate users and protect accounts
- Send transactional and service-related emails (such as verification, password reset, security alerts, and critical account notices)
- Store and deliver your content and media
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service
- Improve the Services and understand aggregate usage patterns
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- Infrastructure providers. We host the Services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and related providers. Data may be processed on AWS services such as Cognito, SES, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and Amplify Hosting, as needed to operate the product.
- Public content. Content you publish is available to visitors of your public page.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Sitebun.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
4. Retention
We keep account and page data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. We may retain certain records where required for security, legal compliance, or legitimate business purposes (for example backups for a limited period).
Analytics retention. For built-in analytics, we store aggregated page metrics (for example daily views, estimated unique visitors, and link click totals) so we can show performance history in your dashboard. We do not need to keep raw request-level analytics events indefinitely to provide these features.
- Aggregated analytics. Daily aggregated analytics records may be retained long-term to preserve historical trends for page owners.
- Short-lived deduplication signals. To estimate unique visitors, we may create short-lived hashed deduplication records that expire automatically (typically within 48 hours).
- Security and abuse logs. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period as needed for reliability, abuse prevention, and incident response.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. International users
If you access the Services from outside the country where our systems operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage some information through your account and editor. To exercise other rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your request before responding.
We currently send only transactional and service-related emails. If we introduce marketing emails in the future, we will do so in accordance with applicable law and provide appropriate consent and unsubscribe controls.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Services or by email where appropriate.
